We were asked to dry mount 9 large photographs of building plans for the National Trust. We fused them in our hotpress to 5mm foam board, we could have used MDF, though the finish would not have been as smooth. We then heat-sealed a matt laminate over the top for protection.
These were then framed in an 8mm deep tray (or float) frame.
These look fantastic in situ as the matt finish makes them look like original drawings and as there is no need for glass, there are no reflections to hamper viewing.
These are now on display at Red House in Bexleyheath which was the home of William Morris the writer, artist, craftsman and socialist. The property is now run by the National Trust and these pictures are for a display in one of the rooms.
